The McAuliffe Simulation Lab
The McAuliffe Simulation Lab is a high-end simulation and visualisation space designed to support cradle-to-career immersive learning, serving students and adult learners alike.
Built around cutting-edge display technology, the lab enables high-resolution, real-time visualisations and fully immersive VR CAVE experiences.
The work was delivered in collaboration with SSIA Technologies at Framingham State University.
CAVE Environment
CAVE stands for Cave Automatic Virtual Environment — a room-scale virtual reality system where stereo-scopic 3D content is projected onto multiple walls, allowing users to move naturally through a shared virtual space.
Technical Focus
- Real-time stereo 3D rendering
- Unreal Engine–based visualisation pipeline
- Multi-wall CAVE projection setup
- Designed for group-based, experiential learning
The lab blends serious simulation with accessible interaction, creating a space where complex ideas can be explored intuitively and collaboratively.
